This is where i spend 9h aday since last Thursday! Im back in the 8 to 5 thing again. But it feels good thou. To have a steady income and all that. Today mel was on a few intervjuvs to which went rather well she thought. She allready has a job thou in Storhogna or something like that as an massus. Which is awsome! Except its 8 hours from where im at! But its only over the winterseason, but still. The future will tell if she is goin there or not.

Party at Petras and Rafaels

Petra and Rafael are some swedish dudes i met on the first plane down here. They have taken me around dhaka and showed me stuff. And whenever I was bored they helped me through it! A couple of weekends ago they invited me and Mel to a Party at their place. When we got there it turns out its Petras birthday! She turned XX years old! Sorry Petra for bringin no gift... We'll make it up to you next year! It was a good party, pasta and beers! oh and some german friends came over to! Dont remember all of their names so id better not mention the names that i do remember. Not want to make someone jellous. ;) And a few days later they went to Kathmandu, Nepal.

We went to a friend of mines doughters birthday the other day, her name is Sawda. It was her first birthday! Shes a beutiful little girl! She is very shy thou, atleast to us. Dont think she has seen white before. But hey no banglish have.. Her father is Saifur and her mother I dont remember the name of ;) if you read this SORRY!! anyways, Sawda is named after one of the profet mohammeds wifes! Which in a muslim country is a really good name! Anyhoo at this party, they rent a restaurant and party big. Over 200 guests came and half of the invited guests canceled. It was huge. And I talk with Saifur about my wonder about the shear amount of guests, how can they afford it and why?? Then he tells me Wait untill you se a bengali wedding!! A normal wedding is about 2000 guests, yes i didnt miss type 3 zeros, and it goes on for four days!!

... the traffic lights here. There are no rules in the traffic. So in big intersections they have to have police men directing the traffic. And at these intersections the beggars live. In one intersection on my way back and forth to work there is this woman and her child that has asked me lots of time for a taka or two, but I have never had any small change on me. Only big money so i havnt given anything to her. And one of the times a few days back when me and Mel went by, we didnt stop becuase there was not much traffic, but she saw us and smiled and waved to us. So a few days later, like yesterday, Mel and me stoped at that intersection and she came to our cng(tuc tuc) and asked for bockshi( tip). We gave her a twenty taka bill. And she was so happy. We even got to take a picture of her and her child. Only one eye thou poor girl.

Or not.. One of the bengali investors choosed the textiles for the interior and this is how everything looks down here. Lots of flowers and leafs and stuff everywhere. But this did look ok onece it was done. Was really worried when he first showed me the textiles. Oh and the beutiful girl in the picture above is my lovely girlfriend, or wife here in Bangla because its very very dirty to have or be a girlfriend, Mel trying out the front bed!

Bengali trains

Just outside the factory there is a railtrack that runs through Dhaka. And it is real Indiana Jones trains going through there. People are sitting on the roofs of the trains, even standing and running around. I saw someone like surfing the train to! Anyways, looks awsome and it would be fun to take a ride sometime. But probobly wont happen. =)

Hot weather and stupid bangladeshi laundry!

Well its starting to get hot now! We have no air condition in the apartment or in the factory yet. Im melting away! drinking like four 2 liter bottles every day, so we swet alot down here... And i left my clothes, almost all of them including the bed linen, to the laundry on thursday and i still havnt got them! Madjet, the servant, says -Laundry finish 25. So that is tomorrow!?! I have no clean clothes, but hey who cares down here. So I have two things on my shopping list now. An air conditioner in every room in the apartment and a washingmachine and dryer. This really is the land of yesterday where tomorrow never comes!

Stealing a Coconut!

Behind the factory we have a palmtree. And in this palmtree there is a few coconuts. So the workers in the factory said they wanted to pick some, and i said -fine if you can get up there go for it! So he takes his shoes of.. twist a ring of rope into an 8 shape. Puts his feet in the rings of the eight. And jumps up the tree like the little monkey he is, and starts to throw down coconuts! Then the feist begins! We cracked them open and drank the coconut milk and ate the meat inside. Well they did cause i dont like coconut, i only tasted abit just for the sake of it. It was my first coconut heist! Anyways, after about 10 mins the owners of the property, or people working for the owner, comes in ready to beat the shit out of the workers but sees me and stop and says that it is theirs coconuts! A few days later the real owner comes and says its ok for me to take coconuts if i want to. This he said after he had the few still remaining nuts removed.

When i came home for lunch the other day I knocked on the door, since its the servant who opens the door, and waited. He didnt come and open the door for me, so i rang the doorbell a few more times and finally he came and opened it. In his hand he had a pigeon! Aparantly the pigeon had flew in through a window and he had been chasing it around for a while before catching it! Thats why he didnt answere the door. Then Murshed came in and suggested to us that we fry it!?! hehe he was joking i think but Mazed looked ready to cook it.. =)

On Fridays you go out an clence yourself to Allah or something.. The bangladeshi people spend half the day praying. They dress up in what they think is beutiful holiday clothes but to me looks like expensive sleeping shirts. =) Friday is the only day off in the week for them because of their religion.¨

Howto build a highrise

The art of building a house here in bangladesh is amasing! No machines at all. They carry everything up by hand, and if its a highrise thats alot of steps to carry concrete and bricks. And they support everything on bamboo sticks until the support pillars are finished. I cant believe i live on the 14th floor in a building thats been built with bamboo sticks! But somehow it works. My servant

Let me introduce to you our servant that lives with us in our apartment. He cooks the food, Im teaching him at the moment to cook european food, cleans the apartment, do the laundry and run errands for us! Its awsome but a little akward since we are not that used to have a servant. But mel is having bigger problem with that than me, heh, so i get to do most of the commanding! But he is allright. He helps us with everything and is taking care of us. Problem boss? He asks everytime i go into the kitchen and gets a glas of water or something by my self. He isnt used to people doing things themselfs. He complained a few days ago that there was nothing to do. That we should use him more. haha =)

Vi har en massa hökar eller örnar utanför fönstret. Vi såg 3-4 st. Melle såg en anfalla en människa uppe i ett annat höghus. De bor här någonstans och jagar ovanför gatan. Så de ligger och cirkulerar utanför vårat fönster precis! Jäkligt häftigt faktiskt! Och melle lyckades få en cool bild på den tillåme!

De omutbara

De omutbara har kommit till stan! Det är ju val nu eller ska bli val snart. Egentligen skulle de ha varit val i början av januari men det va en massa uppror och folket är trötta på all koruption överallt så valet vart uppskjutet. Så nu sitter det en temporär regering (interim government) som kämpar mot koruptionen. Det finns en massa affärer här som har mutat till sig tillstånd eller byggt ut affärerna utan tillstånd. Sättet de bekämpar dem med är helt enkelt att de dyker upp med en fet bulldozer och river stället. Det hände här utanför huset för någon dag sen och vi lyckades få lite bilder från lägenheten.

Mels visit to the factory

Today mel came and visited the factory! All the workers were so curious about her. A white girl!! She was the most beutiful girl they have ever seen and i agree! Here on the picture to the left is me and mel with all the factory workers. From the left its Mamun, Shahin, Moktar and Suruz. After mel left they asked questions about her all day long =)

Big update, gone to bangla

Felt it was about time to write an update. Was a while since laste post. Ive said it before and im saying it again. Im going to try to update more frequently from now on.

Anyways i got my wii and I finished Zelda and rayman. Zelda was awsome and rayman was ok if you play multiplayer.

And then in January i went to Bangladesh to start a plastic factory with my grand father. First month we spent in 3 places. In our hotell, in a car or in a restaurant. Every day we went on meetings in restaurants, eating and talking buisness. I gained 10kgs :/

In one meeting we met an Ex Major that wanted to buy rib boats from us to the navy here in Bangladesh. And he also asked us if we could buy an oil tanker for the bangladeshi government. He gave us an specifikation of the tanker with top secret stamps on it! =)

Lots of more stuff happened but im to tired now to tell them all.. Maybe later..

And then in the end of february i went back home to Sweden. It was wonderful to meet mel again, I missed her soooooo much! But in one and a half week we went back to bangla together!

So here I am, back in bangla, dont really know what im doing here but its an adventure and mel is here with me. I live in a big apartmet, over 200 square meters, with our own servant who is cleaning and cooking and taking care of us all the time. The days i spend in the factory building campers. and the evenings doing stuff with mel. She is awsome, without her i wouldent make it here one day! When i first came here I was feeling really uncomfterble to go out the door even because of everyone is always staring at you because you are white. But mel has been here a few days and we have been out several times and she is feeling uncomfterble but she is strong!

Now im going to the embassy to report me being here. Heard from a couple of friends of mine that you should tell them that you are here if something happens and they need to evacuate all swedish persons in bangla. The political situation here is very unstable.

Nintendo Wii

I want one... It turns out Filip went to Stockholm last night to camp outside webbhallen, which doesnt take any bookings, to stand in line... Om more acurately sit in line.. There is dudes there who has been in that que since last thursday! Thats a week folks!! And now Filip is there and goin to be there untill 12:01 tonight when they open. So i guess im goin to spend the weekend at his place playin some wi! If he let me touch it! hah bitch! UNLESS I figure out a way to raise some money for my self AND find a place where I dont have to stand in line the whole night.. Unlikely.. But there is a small posibility.. Im better off waiting untill im in Bangladesh.. should be much more cheaper there.. BUT I WANT ONE NOW!

Yupp! Im growing by the second! And i hate it.. getting more and more depressed.. When i came back to sweden from australia i was fit.. I was really fit! but now im turning in to a blob! WTF! I was on my way to go running yesterday but lots of stuff came in the way.. My friend Filip came over and wanted to driver around checking the stores if there were a big que! The thing is they are releasing the Nintedo Wii.. WOOOO NINTENDO Wii you might say... but yeah its a big WOO! Its goin to be soo cool.. Have to write alittle about it later.. anyhoo.. We went around lookin for ques but there werent any! so filip thinks i acctually might be able to get his hands on one.. unless the ques start tonight! Hes goin to drag me queing then! hope not.. its cold outside! So I didnt make it out running and i can still feel the fat growing... making my clothes to small.. GHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Its goin to be better in bangladesh! heh im always saying that.. that it is always going to be better.. but not right now.. it never happens.. Im goin to be a blob weighin 200kg before ill say ok lets do something now! God damnit!

Im going to Bangladesh!

Yupp you heard me! Im moving to Bangladesh in Jan! My grandfather is building a company with a factory or two and he wants me to be his right hand in Bangladesh! Which means that me and my girlfriend is moving there! My title will be like Head of Production and/or Vice president! heh Nope im not qualified at all for this but hey, i like challenges!

Its going to be weird working in that enviroment where i am going to make 50 times more money than everyone else!

The fun part is that im goin to have my own driver and servants and stuff.. heh if i can handle it! =)
Anyways its going to be a big huge adventure! and hopefully its going to make me rich! muhaha!
